Message from the Founder
It is with great pride that I welcome and introduce you to Beta Foster Care, a Foster Family Agency. Beta Foster Care was one of the first private nonprofit Treatment Foster Family Agencies to be licensed in Orange County in 1988. We have remained in Orange County ever since we started providing enriched foster care services for some of our most vulnerable foster children and young adults in the community.
Our mission is to prevent harm and improve the quality of life of every child and young person placed in Beta Foster Care. In our program, we identify the unique needs of our foster children and provide them with individualized services. Foster children, youth, and young adults are diverse in many ways, and yet they all share a common need —our help. At Beta Foster Care, we embrace the challenge of meeting their placement needs and protecting their Foster Youth Rights.
In our program, we value each adult who has a calling to open up their home to our foster children. I am proud to personally meet with all such caring adults, so they may benefit from my decades of professional experience in our industry. Foster parents, now called “Resource Parents,” are given individual attention from our staff. We believe that that it is one of the best practices to personally honor the unique placement interests of our Resource Families. Foster care pre-service training and Resource Parent preparation is not a one size fit all process. Instead, the BETA Model is flexible to address the individual questions of our applicant Resource Families.
Beta Foster Care is committed to maintaining frequent and continuous Resource Family Home-based services upon placement of foster children, youth, and young adults. We also coordinate services and support from our many placement partners and stakeholders. Consequently, to be successful in meeting the foster care placement needs of these vulnerable young people, it takes a village of caring adults—the hallmark of our program.
