Executive Director/Founder

Mr. Zacuto is the Executive Director and Founder of Beta Foster Care. He has his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling, and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT21012). Mr. Zacuto has over three decades of professional experience in the foster care industry. Mr. Zacuto currently is the administrator for Beta Foster Care. He supervises all staff and trains all applicant Resource Parents. He specializes in Trauma Informed Care, Grief & Loss, Juvenile Court Dependency Foster Care & Permanency Planning, and Child Abuse and Neglect Treatment. Mr. Zacuto is certified as a Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) Home Study Supervisor.

Mr. Zacuto first provided direct services to foster youth as a group home house parent in 1978. In 1983 Mr. Zacuto was hired as a Social Worker V in Child Protective Services (CPS), San Bernardino County Department of Public Social Services. Also, prior to starting Beta Foster Care Mr. Zacuto provided professional therapy services for Juvenile Court Probation Youth and taught psychology at the college level.

In 1988 Mr. Zacuto started Beta Foster Care, Treatment Foster Family Agency in Orange County from his own means. Mr. Zacuto designed the BETA Model for Resource Parent (foster parent) [ click here ] pre-service training. Sherry Zacuto started her employment with Beta Foster Care in 1989. She has worked with the agency from nearly the very start of Beta Foster Care. She has over 30 years of experience working directly with Resource Families (foster families) and foster children. Mrs. Zacuto has extensive experience in monitoring visits between foster children and their biological families. Her administrative duties have included developing procedures to improve case management services and to maximize staff support. Mrs. Zacuto has specialized in home safety approvals for applicant Resource Families. She is certified to conduct the Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) Home Study. Mrs. Zacuto is also responsible for the agency quality assurance and internal controls.

Aubree Vandenberg, MSW

Social Worker

Aubree Vandenberg, MSW has a Master of Social Work degree and became a staff social worker with Beta Foster Care in 2016. In addition to her case management duties Mrs. Vandenberg coordinates the matching of children referred, from County Welfare Agencies, needing foster care placement with Beta Foster Care Certified Resource Families. She manages the agency outreach project into the community for recruitment of prospective Resource Families. Mrs. Vandenberg coordinates the Beta Foster Care Resource Parent Peer Support Meetings. She is certified to conduct the Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) Home Study, and is the lead home study evaluator [ click here ]

Prior to being hired with Beta Foster Care Mrs. Vandenberg worked for Children’s Home Society in Jacksonville, Florida as a Social Worker. She provided case management and therapeutic services to children being adopted and provided post adoption services. Her cases included children of all ages including medically fragile infants with special needs.

Mrs. Vandenberg is also a Parent Resource for Information Education (PRIDE) Certified Trainer for foster and adoptive families. She has Infant Mental Health Certification (0-3 and 0-5). Mrs. Vandenberg also holds the Core Adoptions Certification.

Arianna Gonzales, B.S.

Social Worker

Arianna Gonzales, B.S. has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health. Ms. Gonzales was hired as a Social Worker at Beta Foster Care in 2023 and provides individualized case management services for foster youth. As a case manager she has specialized in providing Trauma-Informed Care methods to ensure positive development, and in crises intervention, for foster youth.

Prior to employment, Ms. Gonzales worked as a Behavioral Interventionist at About Behavior Consulting, Inc. of Orange County. There, she provided one-on-one instruction for children with special needs using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapeutic techniques. She has undergone Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training and continues to apply her skills to aid in de-escalation management.
