Beta Foster Care
(BFC) was incorporated in 1988 as a 501(c)(3)
non-profit agency tasked with providing private foster family
placement for children who have been removed from their parents’
custody due to abuse and neglect.
BFC is licensed by the
State of California Department of Social
Services to serve as a Treatment Foster Family Agency designed
to meet the special mental health care needs of children in
foster care placement. Beta’s mission is to provide professional
services that prevent cruelty to children.
The initial goal is to stabilize the child’s life.
A nurturing,
kind and supportive foster home, without placement
changes, is
the first step in stabilization. Consequently, the vast majority
of the children placed in Beta’s program remain with the same
foster family until they reunite with their parents or are
placed permanently into adoption or guardianship.
Many of Beta’s foster parents also adopt their Foster Children.
